[The confused expression of Amanda appears on the screen.]

...Hello? Nick? ...Eli? ...Ginn?

[She turns her head slightly looking at her surroundings.]

If you’re getting this I don’t know what happened. This isn’t—

[Her gaze focuses back on the camera and she appears worried.]

Could the--This isn’t Destiny or HomeWorld Command. If anyone else is getting this and has some information about this place I would appreciate it.

[The feed cuts away.]

AU? Is your character an alternative universe version of an existing character? No

History: Not all that much is known about Amanda except for the major fact that when she was nine years old there was an accident that turned her into a quadriplegic. Not really being able to socialize she focused on her studies and eventually earned her PHD. Sometime after that she met Nicholas Rush and started working for HomeWorld Command becoming their Hyperdrive expert. During her time there she would often meet with Rush and he would bounce ideas back and forth off her. When Rush’s wife died she became the supportive friend with the ear to lend although she only wished she could have brought him more comfort.

She visited Destiny twice by way of Ancient communications stones. On her first trip it was to repair the ship’s F.T.L. damaged engines. There she met some of the crew and got to walk for the first time, in someone else’s body, since her accident. While still on board there was an attack by the blueberry aliens and Perry manned the consoles in the control interface room. She worked the weapons along with Eli, Brody and Volker, defending the ship and fending off the alien ships for as long as possible though Young told her to leave if things got too bad. Eventually Destiny returned to F.T.L and Perry admitted to having romantic feelings for Nicholas although he did not recuperate them back since he was still dealing with his wife’s death. Before departing she offered to return if her help was ever needed again.

At Rush’s request she was brought aboard again after some time which lead her to discovering the ship’s a bridge with Rush’s guidance. It had been a closely guarded secret that only he trusted her with. She steered the ship to rescue Rush and Colonel Young from a derelict Ursini vessel. Both experiences were very freeing to her and before she was to depart she reunited with Rush and he ended up embracing her affections back. Things seemed hopeful but as Perry waited for Rush to come back she was confronted by Simeon, a member of the Lucian Alliance living on board Destiny, who was looking for Ginn, a woman whose body Perry was occupying. She ended up getting murdered by him while in Ginn’s body and was thought to be dead along with her.

However that was not be the case as weeks passed on and her consciousness manifested itself in Chole’s body along with Ginn after she used the communication’s stones and dozed off. Being the weakest of the three minds in Chole’s body, she flickered on and off. A plan was drawn up by Rush to download her along with Ginn into Destiny’s mainframe in the hopes of saving her so she could be downloaded into another body sometime in the future. The plan ended up delighting Perry and ended up being successful however it caused a power surge that knocked out the database. At the time TJ (the ship’s medic) was in the process of performing a kidney transplant. With the database down, Amanda appeared to her acting as part of the ship and with her connection to the database guided TJ through the surgery before disappearing. Later on she appeared to Rush on the bridge and told him that she was very happy to be where she was even without a proper body.

Now with being a program in the ship’s computer gave her many advantages such as being able to learn at much faster rate than before and she was able to interact more with Rush on a social level even getting the chance to play chess with him. Craving more though eventually Amanda came up with a way for Rush to upload his consciousness into a virtual world within the ship’s databank by way of the chair. Doing so allowed them to spend more time together and allow Amanda to actually touch Rush. Not really thinking it over and rushing into it she fails to set up the program properly and traps him in the virtual world by accident.

She tries to fix the error going as far as to lying to Rush as to not to worry him until he discovers it. Luckily on the other side Eli learns about the problem and is able to fix it by quarantining the program that contained both Amanda and Ginn and thus freeing Rush in the process but not without consequences. With Rush now free, Eli isolates both Amanda and Ginn from the ship and thus leaving them unable to interact with anyone from the crew.

Personality: Upon first glance Amanda appears to be a brilliant woman with a good head on her shoulders despite her disability. Not having had many friends growing up, she tends to be shy when meeting new people, but once she steps out of that she can get really warm up to people and be curious about things and ask all sorts of question. For example when she boards Destiny and is shown around the mess hall in Camille Wrary's body, she gets fascinated about a fruit one of the soldiers is eating and asks if she could have one. The simpliest things such as being able to feed herself, while possessing another person's body, amazes her as she was unable to do so since the age of 9 when she had her accident and lost the ability to walk.

With her friendly nature, there’s also a manipulative side to her when she has her sights set on something, leading people on until her hand is forced and she’s caught. Although she can mean well at times, if she’s in the wrong she will apologize. Like when she's a program in Destiny's mainframe after her death and comes up with a way that her and Nick can be together which involves the use of the chair. Amanda is so focused on her feelings for him and finally getting to be with him like she wanted to that she gets too over confident in her programming claiming that Nick can come and go as he pleases. When it doesn't work, she lies to Nick and says that Ginn was keeping him there. She tries to fix it again but instead comes up with a way to let him believe that he's woken up from the program when in reality he was still trapped. Eventually Amanda comes out and admits her error claiming that she has trapped him there. However, she keeps trying to find some way to fix it.

She can snap under pressure when cornered such as when some of Destiny's crew members start to round up on her as she tries to fly the ship while in Ginn's body at a certain angle and they give her all sorts of directions.

When achieving her new found freedom in the form of being in someone else’s body, Amanda wants to make the most of it and do as many things that she’s been denied in her own form as possible, such as eating, drinking and admitting her buried feelings for Rush. Which also includes kissing him and trying to throw herself at him in a sexual manner. However, after some conversation Amanda realizes that Nick does not feel the same way, and hugs him in comfort over the loss of his wife. A small gesture that she was unable to do when it first happened.

Although her feelings were rejected at first, Amanda held on and returned for a second time to help out on the ship. When involved with a task, she tends to bury herself in it unless someone else pulls her away such as when Nick is trapped on another ship and communicates with her with cryptic notes that she tries to solve. She focuses on that and ignores all others. She can also mislead others when it comes to Nick. She lets her loyalty to Nick lead her, when she learns the location of the bridge from Nick but doesn't tell the others, deciding to follow his direction. And while the chance she had to be in another body for a second time was cut short, she lived on in Destiny’s mainframe appearing to TJ in her time of need and assisting during a kidney transplant. She was cool under pressure until the procedure was over and successful.

The feeling of being enclosed terrifies her, especially after her death being choked to death.

Skills: Amanda is great at solving puzzles and science. Difficult mathematic equations and is an ancient hyperdrive expert.

Equipment and Items: N/A

N.B. Please remember that powers are disabled whilst on Destiny. This includes weapons and items that are ran by magic, either naturally occuring, or by your character's own abilities.

First-Person Sample:

I don’t understand this. This is not supposed to be possible. It was so dark earlier and now…It appears quarantine has been broken. Where has everyone else gone?

[She turns her head slightly looking at her surroundings. The gate room. ]

Eli, did you do this? Nick? Ginn? If it is Ginn, I do apologize but this is not how to go about things.

Is anyone getting this at all? I do not know what has happened.

[Her gaze focuses back on the screen and she appears worried closing her eyes to focus on something.]

Could the database have been corrupted? I wouldn’t felt it surely, yes?

[But she doesn’t. Not anymore and that is really concerning.]

Usually, I can understand this. I am afraid I am at a loss right now.

Third-Person Sample: As Amanda wandered through the corridors of Destiny something seemed a little off than usual. However it didn’t stop her as she trekked on. She was still getting used to the freedom in getting to explore the ship on her own. This was a side of the ship that none of the actual crew got to see. Even if at first glance it seemed like a mirror image of Destiny. She wondered just how long her current status would last. The reassurance from Nick that they’d find some way to get her a body started to weigh heavily on her mind. What if one day she’d just disappear into the blackness that had consumed her once when her body died? She shivered at the thought. That hadn’t been pleasant at all.

This freedom though was different. If she really thought about it, it did make her happy getting to actually walk on her own see things, instead of being stuck in a chair and led. Venturing even deeper before turning a corner, she could see the galley up ahead. Maybe she could try to cook something as with every step she took her mind raced through the Destiny’s database for something suitable.

However just as she reached the galley, the scenery faded and she found herself in what seemed to be a city. Surely she would have felt a glitch in the system, she thought trying to focus but found that the connection had disappeared. This wasn’t good at all. Deciding to give it a few more minutes, she closed her eyes. And no feeling still. All that data that ran through her mind was completely gone. Worry started to really set in and as she opened her eyes she found a device at her feet.

Leaning down she picked it up to examine it. It almost looked like a Kino remote at first glance.

"How odd..." she said aloud to no one in particular as she fiddled with it.
